Overview

Are you passionate about improving kidney health in African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities? The Can-SOLVE CKD Network is looking for a patient partner to join the team in co-developing a webinar series focused on ACB kidney health and research in Canada.

In Canada, Black people are at elevated risk of developing kidney disease, have more rapid progression of kidney disease, are referred later for kidney care, are less likely to receive home-based dialysis or a kidney transplant, and have higher mortality after kidney transplantation.

The Can-SOLVE CKD Network is proposing a two-part webinar series to raise awareness among the African, Caribbean and Black (ACB) community on: 1) kidney health and prevention strategies, and 2) opportunities to participate in and lead kidney research. The webinars will involve a panel of ACB leaders in the kidney community, including nephrologists, researchers, and patient partners.

Patient partners will receive honoraria (compensation) for their participation. Approximately 1-2 hours of work per month, with times of no work.

Call for participants closes on August 31, 2025.
