Overview

Despite being vaccinated, transplant recipients remain at high risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes. However, they are often excluded from studies due to design challenges, resulting in limited data. Their families and caregivers also face increased stress, mental health challenges, and financial burdens.

The TREAT-COVID study aims to address these barriers by understanding how COVID-19 continues to affect child and/or adult transplant recipients and their families or caregivers living in Canada. This is in hopes of creating a flexible national plan to inform better policies and improve patient health.

As a study participant, you will be asked to complete online questionnaires every three months for up to two years. As a transplant recipient, if you get COVID-19, you and your family member will be asked to complete additional questions on receiving treatments, your mental health and wellness, and your financial situation.
